It’s Thursday, February 13, 2020, and I’m feeling better after missing last week. February 6, 2020 was hosted by tech guru Chris Jenkins. Our Entrepreneur Social Club [tm], meets every Thursday night, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at our glorious ESC HQ, my historic venue, NOVA 535. This dynamic group gathers for business development, drinks, mentoring, networking, laughter, plus sharing successes, failures and for honest feedback. Then we go downtown for dinner and more drinks. An Insightfuli Maria Garces
The sun rises as expected, Thursday, October 3, 2019, and I awake somewhere in Denver. I escaped the Florida heat for a bit, flying out to the Rocky Mountains, to explore. After speaking with tech guru Seth Mattox earlier in the week, he’s agreed to take over the hosting role for me, and I’m most appreciative. However when I awake today, 2 hours behind Florida, Seth’s cold has turned much nastier. So he needs to bow out; no point in spreading his flu around. So I’m left scrambling to find a replacement. Chris Jenkins is on a rare, and much deserved vacation. I briefly consider flying home, but that’s way expensive and an insane super stressor. So after speaking with some qualified peers, Maria Garces, the founder of Insightfuli, happily agrees to host for us. Hence our blog title, An Insightfuli Maria Garces. She takes over here at our ESC HQ, my downtown St. Pete venue, NOVA 535. Gracias Amiga! (more…)
Naked Aspirations
Today started out with me arriving at my historic venue NOVA 535 a bit earlier than usual. To meet Harvey, of Harvey Photos, plus a handful of soon to be birthday suit wearing models, and a nice photographer and a reporter combo reporting for the Tampa Bay Times. What used to be the St. Petersburg Times when I was a kid. Harvey Drouillard is a talented fine art photographer, with an extraordinary flair for surprising us. In some of the most pleasant of ways. After solving (most) all of the (foreseeable) logistical issues, he stages beautiful and unique locations, like historic venues, airports, public sidewalks, and such, with his naked models. They pop in quickly and unexpectedly, Harvey watching and photo-capturing those precious moments, then whoosh, the show is over. Nakedness dissolving like a noontime fog. After a long day filled with 5 separate shoot locations, Harvey returns to join us, his fellow Entrepreneurs, for our weekly gathering. Yup, it’s Thursday night again, this one is May 16, 2019. After some initial schmoozing and sipping of cocktails, we’ve settled into the sit-down, meeting part of the night. To discuss many things, including our Naked Aspirations. (more…)
Three Kathleens and a Robot
It’s funny. I’m standing at NOVA 535’s beautiful 60 foot long ‘S’ bar (S is for Sexy and St. Pete), awaiting my fellow Entrepreneurs to roll in. Yea it’s Thursday night, May 9, 2019, and 6:00 pm approaches, and now has past, while new and familiar faces line up at the bar. One of the newcomers is Kathleen Logan, a local Family Law Attorney. One is Kathleen Seide, founder of Seide Realty and another Kathleen has a most wonderful Hat-a-Tude. And one is a robot. Three Kathleens and a Robot. Well, maybe one of the lovely, smiling ladies pictured below is not a robot… or is she? We do meet a robot tonight, before dinner even.
Our Successes are Shaken and Stirred
Shaken and Stirred. Red or White? Domestic or Imported? Tonight, Thursday January 26, 2017, as our delightful bartender Vanessa enjoys some sin city with her friends, I add to my roles that of Bartender. Luckily, not the first or even 100th time, so we’re in good shape. Not as good when she is around (don’t leave us Vanessa!) but we’ll survive! And yes Art, you can have another Vodka and Soda, just let me put my camera down!
