After marrying off my best friend since University of Florida Drew Edwards back in July 4th 2015 at my wedding and event venue NOVA 535 in beautiful downtown St. Petersburg, Florida to the lovely and French wifey Helene, I was told there’d be a party in the south of France with her family in early October. Well I managed to make it to Montpellier and was even able to score Drew’s possibly final week of travels alone with me before he heads home and gets to work on baby making. We decided to hit Lisbon, Portugal, neither of us having visited there before and it’s on the way home via London LGW.

Wow do I love pinball!! So you might imagine my raw excitement as I saw a listing for The Hungarian Pinball Museum , located in the heart of Újlipótváros, Budapest, billed as “Hungary’s first and Europe’s largest continuously operating interactive pinball exhibition.” You had me at Pinball. The only downside was it was closed on Monday and Tuesdays, opening at 4pm Wednesday, my last full day in Budapest. Us “kids” hate to wait, right?? Come on Wednesday!! (more…)

If I had to describe this week’s, July 30th, 2015, Entrepreneur Social Club, aka ESC, in one catchy phrase, it’d be: Why Orange you here with us enjoying the Entrepreneur Social Club?! Huh? The citrus reference will make sense soon enough! Remember that the ESC is our weekly get together, our ever growing family of business owners, students, start-ups, rich and powerful mentors, designers, inventors and Entrepreneurs representing of every industry and corner of the globe. At time where we let off some steam and spend it helping each other. Last night was another fabulous continuation of this, since I founded officially the ESC back in January 2009. It’s most always held at historic venue NOVA 535, though occasionally we are offsite because NOVA is rented for a private event. – ya know – paying down the mortgage, one 5 star event at a time!

The tall charming Mr. CoCreativ himself Joseph Warren was kind enough to cross the big scary bridge and visit us from that far away exotic port called Tampa. Joe brought with him the lovely Kelly Wilson, founder of EDGE. EDGE stands for Entrepreneurs Dedicated to Growth and Excellence, a great community that offers their members unity, collaboration, empowerment and promotion thought their EDGE business alliance, formally known as the South Tampa Business Alliance, EDGE Business magazine, and iHeartRadio’s “Getting the EDGE, with Kelly Wilson” Radio Show. Wow what a busy, fabulous lady Kelly is!!

According to their Facebook page, the “St. Pete Indie Market is a monthly makers faire showcasing the best of all things indie, located in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg.” And according to The St. Pete Indie Market Website, their mission is “To promote local arts and culture and to engage and empower our community towards positive growth.” Stated a bit wider than I like to see for their formal mission statement, it’s still full of that good “Hippie – Let’s Save the World” feeling. A feeling that I love to see, hear and experience. One I also help spread, along with my pals and fellow members at Keep St. Pete Local, plus always via my weekly fun and productive club for business owners and Entrepreneurs, on Thursday Nights, the Entrepreneur Social Club. I’m a gamer at heart, though these days my gaming is expressed solely here in the real world, via social media and event planning. I was born in 1968 so was just a lad when the first PCs came out, the Atari 800 and Macintosh, Commodore 64, etc along with video arcades, populated with the likes of Atari and Nintendo games. I spent a LOT OF $$, one quarter at a time, avoiding flashing monsters, plants begin dropped on my head and incoming missile strikes.
April 1, 2015, is my 47th birthday, yes I’m a proper FOOL, and I was invited to join my brother Chris and his son Christopher, for Birthday Gaming with Pinball and Mr Do at the TI Fun Center. A business we’ve been supporting for decades, except now it’s out in Seminole – same name TI Fun Center, different address. Good thing is that it’s STILL AWESOME and provided a delightful afternoon for all generations of gamers.

We’ve been hosting the ESC since 2009, here at historic wedding and event venue NOVA 535 Unique Event Space, located in gorgeous downtown St. Petersburg, Florida.
Legendary bartender Big Pete celebrates a mega magical 40th with ESC Business Makers
We gathered to celebrate the BIG 40 with legendary bartender Big Pete Quigley, bringing in 3 Time Best of the Bay DJ MEGA to ensure a proper groove all night while enjoying the fabulous magic and amazing card tricks of local magician Cory Van Valin. Here in gorgeous downtown St. Petersburg, Florida the ESC Business Makers gathered in the breathtaking main downstairs gallery at the historic venue NOVA 535 Unique Event Space, while Pete and company partied upstairs in NOVA’s swanky VIP Lounge. Later, much later, after the kiddies had gone home all birthday caked up, and full of the incredibly fresh and amazingly delicious tacos from none other than the lovely Colleen Travers aka “The Taco Lady” famous at our Saturday Morning Market, we adults merged into one big happy, dancing, corn-hole playing, partying family.
