Another beautiful Thursday evening here in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, and October 27, 2016 brings the weekly Entrepreneur Social Club Meeting. This week our home base, historic venue NOVA 535, was booked for a wedding. Luckily one of our favorite members, photographer and charity Little Light Of Mine founder Sheri Kendrick, offered up her 2542 central Avenue, DTSP space. Coincidentally it was her birthday – Happy Birthday Sheri!! Sheri Kendrick is a little light of ours!! Conveniently next door at 2444 Central Avenue is fellow ESC member Mandy Keys, with her delightful Community Cafe. A cafe perfect for coffees and other yummy hot and cold beverages, brews and ciders, plus a healthy, tasty menu for lunch, dinner and late night dining! Check out their game night! Thanks Mandy for sharing some chairs with us; and mmmm that caramel coffee of yours was delish!

As her website points out “Little Light Of Mine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering professional photography services, free of charge, to families with children fighting life-threatening illness or injury. Many families who are caring for a sick child fall into financial hardship and can not afford professional photography services. Families in this situation may simply not have hiring a professional photographer on their minds. We partner with organizations and attend community events to inform others of our service. Please refer any family you feel would benefit from our services.”
We had two new members tonight, on left is Rob Cronk, with his Living Easy Clothing company gaining momentum. He received lots of constructive input from out team, including from consultant Nick Mazeika and Kathi Harris of Hat-a-Tude. Both Nick and Kathi have decades of hands on, practical business experience, including Kathi’s 30+ years in the hat industry. Rob had a great attitude and we can tell that he WILL be successful, because he is willing to listen, evolve via continuous improvement. Similar in attitude is David Regidor representing his family’s Bayside Carpet Cleaner business. David’s family business is expanding and he also got plenty of great input and advice from the group. We suggested better showcasing of his new carpet cleaning “toys”, that dry much faster. Also David cleans for some of the NY Yankees and Steinbrenner himself; that’s some impressive names to drop. Funny videos and testimonials were also suggested. Welcome to the Entrepreneur Social Club, gents!! Neither did make our dinner afterwards tonight, across the street at DTSP favorite, The Queenshead restaurant. David has a newborn son, so certainly he gets a hall pass THIS time. Congrats!
Here is our lovely Sheri Kendrick. Certainly, Sheri Kendrick is a Little Light of Ours. She’s super sweet and instantly likeable, and an incredibly talented photographer. And as I love to share, she’s jumped out of a (perfectly good) airplane 600 times! OMG!! These are my photos, taken by a guy with a nice camera…so be kind. Typically our weekly meeting attendance is 30-50 members, and about 20-30 for dinner. Tonight a bit lighter with ESC being offsite, plus Halloween festivities in full swing. We ALWAYS do dinner afterwards, and most often more drinks and foolishness in DTSP after that…..occasionally an after, and then when the stars and I align, an after after AFTER party. Be careful, you’ve been warned. Dinner at Queenshead was fun and delicious as always, with some fun costuming to boot. We’re so glad that Sheri Kendrick is a little light of ours!

Who “nose” what you’ll see in DTSP on Halloween weekend! We made our way to Enigma bar and lounge a bit east down Central avenue, for some tequila and dancing! Remember no photos allowed after 10pm! Happy Birthday Sheri!! Princess Leia working the snarl! Love the eye shadow!!
