An Insightfuli Maria Garces hosting the Entrepreneur Social Club at historic downtown St. Pete venue NOVA 535

An Insightfuli Maria Garces

The sun rises as expected, Thursday, October 3, 2019, and I awake somewhere in Denver. I escaped the Florida heat for a bit, flying out to the Rocky Mountains, to explore. After speaking with tech guru Seth Mattox earlier in the week, he’s agreed to take over the hosting role for me, and I’m most appreciative. However when I awake today, 2 hours behind Florida, Seth’s cold has turned much nastier. So he needs to bow out; no point in spreading his flu around. So I’m left scrambling to find a replacement. Chris Jenkins is on a rare, and much deserved vacation. I briefly consider flying home, but that’s way expensive and an insane super stressor. So after speaking with some qualified peers, Maria Garces, the founder of Insightfuli, happily agrees to host for us. Hence our blog title, An Insightfuli Maria Garces. She takes over here at our ESC HQ, my downtown St. Pete venue, NOVA 535. Gracias Amiga! (more…)

Falling towards 2020 with the Entrepreneur Social Club at historic downtown St. Pete venue NOVA 535

Falling towards 2020

We are falling towards 2020, with October just days away. Wow, it’s already Thursday, September 26th. I find myself back again in the ESC hosting chair, at my 5-Star downtown St. Pete venue, NOVA 535. We are gathered to share our successes and failures, to laugh, learn, and work together. Towards a better future for us all. Not just a rosie, pie-in-the-sky bunch of dreamers, a group of hard-working, learn by continuous improvement, we who keep pushing, evolving and growing.  Small business owners. Those who do fail, and then get back up, harder, smarter and more determined than ever. All while having a tremendous amount of fun, and some incredibly wild, late-night adventures. Like our upcoming annual Halloween costume party, Novaween. This year, on Thursday, October 31, 2019, Halloween night itself, we will celebrate our 13th annual, Novaween. Get your Novaween 13 tickets now and support the ESC, especially before the price goes up!

Thursday, September 19, 2019, the Entrepreneur Social Club discusses transitioning from an Analog Reality to Digital TV at downtown St. Pete venue NOVA 535

Analog Reality to Digital TV

Hey everyone, it’s Thursday, September 19, 2019, and I’m back from my most recent Canadian adventures. I spent some time in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, which was fabulous. Then bounced over to Atlanta to visit my best friend and mentor, Drew Edwards. Drew is usually the smartest guy in the room, so it’s always a fun and productive time together. Just like our Entrepreneur Social Club meetings are. Then I spent about 2 weeks in Toronto, for TIFF 2019. That’s Toronto International Film Festival. With my charming pal Kevin Kincaid, an actor, TV producer, Entrepreneur, and filmmaker. He scored me my first paid acting gig as a ‘Silent on Screen’ TV actor,  as opposed to ‘Background’ or ‘Speaking on Screen.’ Thanks, Kevin! So here I am, back in the hosting chair, at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue, NOVA 535. Where we are discussing our transition from an Analog Reality to Digital TV.

A House Full of Love

Love is supposedly all we need. Sounds LOVELY. Well, maybe LOVE and running water, electricity, mobile phones, organic farmers, scientists, bartenders, and Entrepreneurs. Especially us Entrepreneurs. We are the problem-solvers, the sure let’s try it that, er maybe this way, kinda people. That’s why I created this wild and crazy Entrepreneur Social Club. We are always hungry for knowledge, laughs, and camaraderie. We are back, once again, at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue and unique event space NOVA 535. Tonight, another hot and rainy Thursday, the 25 of July 2019.

A Virtual Analog Reality

Where are we? Hmm, there are many worlds. Some digital. Some Analog. Tonight, I think we’ve stepped into A Virtual Analog Reality. We the Entrepreneurs, are always tinkering. Dreaming, creating, trying, doing. Crazy. Mad. Forming dreams into our new realities. Analog and Digital realities. And when those realities meet, we have created a Virtual Analog Reality. Analog spaces and people. Digital tools and systems. With augmented and virtual realities, like some of the VR toys we played with tonight. Care of fellow Entrepreneur Stacy Waite. Yea, our world is a ch-ch changing! So let’s get settled in, around our massive meeting table, here at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue. The beautiful and unique event space NOVA 535. Tonight, yes as I’ve said for weeks now, is another hot and rainy Thursday. This one landing on August 8, 2019. (more…)

Michael Scott Novilla is a Published Author

Wow. It’s time to literally jump for joy. After almost 5 long years, filled with plenty of trials, failures, laughter, travels, stories and parties, we are finally here. Back breaking work, stress, rage, frustrations, sorrow, success and failures, we are here. Finally. Last night, July 31, 2019 I, Michael Scott Novilla, founder of the Entrepreneur Social Club, can be called a Published Author. Michael Scott Novilla is a Published Author. Wow. I’m so grateful and thankful for so many reasons. Especially of Topher Morrison, previously of the Key Person of Influence program, and thereby Daniel Priestley it’s founder. They created the path forward, to publishing. It was supposed to take 9 months, it lasted about 5 years. Not from lack of hard work. No, more from having to understand and pitch who I really am. Which, for us Entrepreneurs, is not only a moving target, it’s (hopefully) an expanding one as well. Yea, I’m complex. So let’s say thanks to Topher and Daniel, and get rolling with our ESC meeting, held at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue and unique event space NOVA 535. Another rainy Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Niajae shares her abundance of ProductiviTEA with the Entrepreneur Social Club at historic downtown St. Pete venue NOVA 535

Niajae shares her Abundance of ProductiviTEA

We, the Entrepreneur Social Club, have the mentality of win-win-win. When you are better off, everyone is better off. Suffering hurts us all. The Abundance Mindset. You are the limiting factor of yourself. You are the one who sets your own limits. If you can dream it, you can (most likely) achieve it. I do, on rare occasions, dream of flying. From the treetops up, up and away. Yes, we have planes, parachutes, gliders, jetpacks and such, so see what I’m talking about here? Well, we the Entrepreneurs, the dreamers and visionaries, the builders, the doers (like our aptly named Jamie Doershuck‘s The Doer Company) we are the ones who get shite done. And Niajae embodies that way of thinking. That of Abundance, instead of scarcity. Here at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue and unique event space NOVA 535.  Tonight, Thursday, July 11, 2019, Niajae shares her abundance of ProductiviTEA.

Sharing Success Stories

Even those of us who are the “Super Heros” “Leaders” “Visionaries,” my fellow “Entrepreneurs,” we all need love, hugs, and support. That’s why so many of us keep coming, week after week, to our Thursday night gathering. Here at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue and unique event space NOVA 535. We network for a bit while grabbing cocktails from Vanessa our lovely bartender. Then we sit down at about 6:30 pm – 6:45 pm for the meeting part. It’s not formal, though we have rules and procedures, like NO religion and NO politics. We enjoy sharing success stories, along with failures and frustrations. Tonight, Thursday, June 27, 2019, we stick to sharing success stories to help add positive energy and wind behind our sails. Some weeks we just need a bit more juice in our tanks.

Seth Mattox says some smart stuff

Tonight is Thursday, June 20, 2019, and I’m at my historic downtown St. Petersburg, Florida wedding venue and unique event space NOVA 535, here a bit early for improvement design time. We have a newcomer, new to the Entrepreneur Social Club (that’s “The ESC” to us regulars) and newish to St. Pete. She, Jenifer Madson, is friendly and engaging and as we close in on 6 pm maybe only 10-12 members have trickled in. So far. Jenifer asks about attendance, and I laugh that it’s never predictable, but to relax, guests and members will continue to saunter in. When we sit down about 6:40 pm for the “formal” meeting time (we aren’t formal, though we have strict rules and procedures, like NO religion and NO politics), our huge table is almost full.

Then our notorious “late” comers, (one of their names rhyme with He-He) those in by 7 pm, fill up almost every spot. After each meeting, we head deeper into Downtown St. Pete (that’s DTSP to us locals) and it’s always a wild-card as to how many say they are coming to dinner (I’d guess 2/3), how many of them actually show up (most of that 2/3) then of course we have the “even laters”, like Sir Jzon Livingston, some of our most favorite peeps, who swing in just for dinner. Well, dinner and a long night of deserting. Tonight as Chris and Kym Jenkins are both out parenting, luckily Seth Mattox says some smart stuff to cover for Chris’ missing technobabble. I love the ESC!
